Bombay Caf? opened its doors on February 3, 1987 in the old 1920's Avondale Theatre located within Birmingham's historic Lakeview District. Today Bombay Caf? continues to be one of Birmingham's premier restaurants recognized in national publications such as Bon Apetit Magazine, Southern Living Magazine and the Atlantic Constitution. Bombay Caf? has catered to the likes of many local celebrities, national political figures, sports icons, and renowned entertainers. In 1996, Bombay Caf? expanded to include The Canteen, an upscale martini bar. The Canteen is located next to Bombay Caf? and open for both lunch and dinner boasting a casual setting highlighted by a full bistro style fare. Bombay Caf?'s menu changes daily, featuring continental cuisine including the freshest of gourmet seafood, prime steaks, lamb, veal and exotic meats. Special menu requests are welcome with 48 hours advanced notice. Bombay Caf? opens at 5:30 for bar service and begins seating at 6:00 for dinner. Bombay Caf? remains open until 9:30 Monday through Thursday and until 10:30 on Friday and Saturday evenings. Reservations are highly recommended.
